Kou - Sparkle

This kanji reads "Kou" (glitter, shine, spark).

The style I decided to use for this piece is a combination of the styles Kaisho and Gyosho.

Kaisho is a structured style, free from variation (it's the one you would more commonly find if you researched a kanji representation online).

Gyosho is a unification of thick and thin lines, for a softer, calming result.

For this piece, I used gold ink and stained the brush with a bright red (no mixing).

The original is written on black "shikishi" (traditional handmade Japanese paper) with golden edges.
